OUR STORY

Built for children.
By people who truly listen.

SAGA began with three women and an unsettling observation: the world designs around children but almost never from them. We decided that had to change.

"When you listen to children; really listen; their ideas are brilliant, practical, and joyful."

ASHIMA, SWATI & VARSHA — FOUNDERS

A child already knows. We just make room.

Not smaller adults. Whole people.

A child who isn't afraid to be wrong.

Curious before they were anything else.

Children don't need more. They need better.

HOW IT BEGAN

Between school runs, dog-eared sketchbooks, and questions that wouldn't rest.

SAGA wasn't born in a boardroom. It grew out of conversations the kind that stretch past bedtime, fuelled by a quiet and persistent frustration. Three friends kept arriving at the same realisation: the children's space was full of things made for grown-up eyes, shaped by adults who had long stopped asking children what they actually needed or who they already were.

So we decided to build differently. We brought together a decade of textile heritage, twenty years of manufacturing rigour, and a master's in design thinking and made one quiet agreement: children would be our collaborators, not our audience. Every stitch, every workshop, every experience begins with what a child already knows. And gives it room to grow.

"A child who is heard becomes a person who trusts themselves."

THE SAGA CONVICTION

THE PEOPLE BEHIND SAGA

Three women. One conviction.

Ashima

HEART & CREATIVE DIRECTION

Dubai Resident for 10+ Years. Mum to two children, aged 13 and 7, Ashima is SAGA’s calm compass. With a background in Fine Arts, psychology, textiles, and mental health advocacy, she brings emotional depth and design sensitivity to everything SAGA creates.

A SAGA Moment
One day, a seven-year-old handed Ashima a drawing of her “perfect jacket.”
It had pockets everywhere.
“One for my rocks, one for my feelings, and one that’s secret,” the child explained.
That little drawing became SAGA’s first design brief. It is why every Saga Wear piece carries one small detail that belongs entirely to the child who wears it: a hidden pocket, a quiet symbol, a tiny place for wonder.

Swati

SOUL, QUALITY & TECH

MBA in Marketing. Twenty years in China, building an export business. UAE resident, five years. Mum to two, aged 18 and 14. An oil and acrylic painter, she carries both the discipline of execution and the sensitivity of an artist. The one who knows what quality feels like before any label confirms it.

Product Sourcing · Quality Assurance · Digital Operations · Fine Arts

A SAGA Moment
Twenty years of sourcing taught Swati one simple test:
Would my child reach for this, or walk past it?
That question, equal parts instinct and experience, became one of SAGA’s quiet standards. Every product, every material, every finish must pass through that invisible doorway: does it invite a child in?
At SAGA, quality is not only checked. It is felt.

Varsha

MIND, INNOVATION & YOUTH STRATEGY

Master's in Design, Leeds. Two Penn State certifications in Positive Youth Development, Varsha brings SAGA its sense of space, rhythm, curiosity, and future-thinking. With a background in interior design, advanced design study, and youth development, she understands the children.

A SAGA Moment
Varsha once asked a group of eight-year-olds to design their dream school.
No desks. No chairs. No big instruction board.
Just a soft, small space “for when you need to think.”
That one answer became a design truth for SAGA: children need room for wonder, and also to pause. It is why every SAGA experience is created to hold : the curious one that wants to explore, and the quiet one that needs a little corner of its own.

BRAND PILLARS

What guides every decision.

Child-led

Every decision passes through one filter: would a child reach for this? Not a parent. A child.

Craft over convenience

We choose linen over polyester, embroidery over print, reuse over disposal. Nothing disposable.

Slow by design

SAGA is not chasing trends. Every product, every workshop, every word is built to outlast them.

Safe to be

SAGA spaces and garments are designed for confidence, not performance. A child should never feel they are being watched.

BRAND PHILOSOPHY

Saga exists in the space between enough and extraordinary.

We speak to the parent who reads the label twice. Who wonders where it was made, who made it, and whether it will still look considered after forty washes. We don't sell children's clothing or workshops. We offer an invitation into a world where children feel seen.

Our tone: Warm, Considered & Honest. Never frantic. Never discounted. Never louder than necessary.

“Childlike, never childish. Warm, never loud. Designed, never decorated.”

Write your Saga
